Welome to the website for the Rogers Park Metra Community Garden, a project to restore and expand a community garden at the Rogers Park Metra Station on Chicago’s Far North Side. The project is a joint effort of community residents living near the station, riders, and the Rogers Park Garden Group (RPGG).
This Spring, volunteers will work with master gardeners from the RPGG to plan the community garden. Planting will begin in May, with maintenance and expansion to take place throughout the summer and into the fall. The project will reclaim a distressed public space with natural beauty and provide opportunities for diverse community residents and groups to work together.
If you are interested in participating in this project, please contact Brian White at (773) 209-8552 or bwhite_rp@yahoo.com.

I have a seed company. If I can do anything to help your endeavors in the way of seed let me know. I will gladly match any purchase from your members with the equal amount of free seed for your community garden. See our Seed to Free Seed Program. We want to help community gardens grow!

Hi Farmer John:
I shared your offer with folks from the group and will get back to you. The start-up for this year has been a bit delayed by the weather and the lousy economy. We are likely going to do some planting on the west side. Is there still time to work with your seeds or are we better off looking at next year?
